  • Just click here to be taken to the Bt my donate site and register your event.
  • Then let us know about your event so we can help to promote it through our website and Facebook pages.
There are many different ways to raise money, from simply asking for donations to organising your own events. We advise you to choose the method that is most suited to you, your lifestyle and your fundraising target. Don't overstretch yourself and above all don't forget to enjoy it, you will be more successful if you do!

Points to consider when holding an event or activity . . .

  • Work out a simple budget at the start of your planning, remembering to include all costs and how much money you expect to come in.
  • What do you need to make the event a success?
  • Do you need to recruit other volunteers or other helpers?
  • Venue - make sure the location has the facilities needed for the event. Reduce costs by getting items or venues donated by companies.
  • What date is best for you and your supporters.
  • Allow enough time to organise the event.
  • Avoid competition by finding out when other events may be happening.
  • Will the weather affect your event?
  • Are there extra resources or emergency cash available on the day?
  • Don’t be afraid to cancel an event if necessary.
  • Be aware of the legal requirements for your fundraising event.
  • Consider what insurance you may need. Ensure that you have insurance such as Public Liability Insurance and that any buildings or equipment that you hire are covered.
  • Publicise your event in plenty of time.
  • The night before, mentally run through the event and make a note of all eventualities and extra equipment eg. calculators, string, sellotape, extra stationery to avoid having to purchase them in an emergency.
  • Ideally take photos in a digital format and send them to If you have taken pictures we may be able to include them on our website.
  • Where possible, ensure that the money is counted and looked after by 2 people who are unrelated.
